A marriage of ultra-sleek Scandinavian chic & Japanese minimalism, Sticks‘n’Sushi – Covent Garden serves a menu of fresh, beautifully-presented sushi, sashimi & sizzling yakitori sticks. First opened in Copenhagen, the internationally acclaimed restaurant brings an exciting fusion concept to one of London’s hotspots of activity.

Rich in flavour, the Sticks‘n’Sushi menu includes ceviche roll with red onion, cucumber, avocado, yellowtail, coriander & lime marinade, rib-eye steak marinated in Japanese BBQ sauce, topped with spring onion & sesame seeds & served with kimchee, and panko-breaded pork sticks with wasabi Caesar dressing. The dessert selection is led by yuzu sorbet with orange, lemon meringue, lemon curd, lemon pearls & lime.

Dine in the slick restaurant featuring suspended art pieces, minimalistic wooden furniture & a stony-grey colour palette. A long list of Japanese-inspired cocktails features on the Sticks‘n’Sushi drinks menu, including ‘Hanoko’, which comprises homemade jasmine tea infused with sochu & elderflower with honey & lime.

Sticks‘n’Sushi in Covent Garden is a 5-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station. The Royal Opera House is a 4-minute walk away.

I booked for 4 and we found the table a little too small, it was just one square table, when you factor in the large sharing plates, it would be more comfortable to have two squares for this size of party. We managed but we had to be really careful not to knock over our drinks. Service was good, and our waiter was happy to have a fresh cocktail made when we found a second order did not taste or look the same as previous (possibly an ingredient missing but was not right). Menu worked for everyones preferences.
