A 17th-century Georgian town house in Haddington, The Brasserie at Maitlandfield House uses the best Scottish produce to stamp freshness and flavour on traditional British dishes. Aged East Lothian steaks and classic smoked salmon denote hearty hotel dining at Maitlandfield House, where regular wine dinners showcase fine European wines and local delicacies.
Head chef Mark De Freitas and his team use produce from carefully sourced local suppliers to create a blend of modern and classic dishes. East coast roped mussels in classic Scots Belhaven ale join a range of vegetarian starters on the Brasserie, Bar & Grill menu. Prime steaks are cooked in traditional style, or try a skewer of mixed marinated beef, the Portuguese-inspired Espetada.
The Brasserie dining experience is complemented by the adjacent lounge. Produced just a few miles from the house, Glenkinchie classic malt whisky can be enjoyed from a welcoming armchair in front of the open fire.
Ideal for golfers visiting the nearby ‘Golf Coast’, Maitlandfield House shares the unspoilt charm of its beautiful market town home, and the hotel bar stocks locally-brewed cider and Edinburgh malt Glenkinchie. The Brasserie, Bar & Grill at Maitlandfield House Hotel is a 2-minute drive, or 5-minute walk, from the centre of Haddington.
